A Word every day to get you on your way!

Here is the Daily Dose for Wednesday, March 6, 2019.

The Lord has heard my cry for mercy; the Lord accepts my prayer. Psalm 6:9

He Hears You

Have you ever had a conversation where you knew the other person was just not hearing you? It was not that you were not speaking loudly enough, or that there was interference in the air, they could hear you, but they were not hearing you. You knew they were not hearing you because their answers were simply not adequate to what you were saying. You knew they did not hear you because they were answering questions you didn’t ask, responding to things you didn’t say and nothing they said seemed to make any sense based on what you were saying. So you sat there wondering why they seemed to just not be able to hear you.

The problem is words will often get in the way of what we are trying to say. Words leave room for interpretation, misinterpretation, and reinterpretation. In all of this interpreting means that not only may the person not be able to hear you, but you also may not be saying what you think you are saying. You see the path from the heart, to the brain, to the mouth is rarely a direct one. Things can be lost, misstated and occasionally what we meant to say can be the opposite of what we have actually said. So it is not only possible that they didn’t hear you, but also that you didn’t say what you thought you said.

The great thing about speaking with God is that God is not like other people. When you pray, God not only hears the words, but he also hears the heart. God cuts through the path from the path from mouth to the brain to the heart and starts at the heart. God hears the desires, the concerns and needs of the heart cutting through the need for words and ending with simply the pure connection of communicating with Him. Friends, communication is imperfect, and words will sometimes fail us, but God will always hear you and accept your prayer.

Be Blessed,
