BIO

Rev. Dr. Daryl L. Williams is the Senior Pastor of the St. Paul United Methodist Church of Oxon Hill, Maryland (St. Paul at Oxon Hill). Under his dynamic leadership, St. Paul at Oxon Hill has become one of the fastest-growing United Methodist Churches in its region. Pastor Williams has a passion for preaching and teaching the Bible to reach the lost, edify believers and build a church that honors God, is Holy Spirit led and builds disciples of Jesus Christ.  Under Dr. Williams’ leadership, over two hundred people have made St. Paul at Oxon Hill, their church home, new ministries have launched, the facility has had continual updates, and the future is bright.

Before coming to St. Paul at Oxon Hill, Dr. Williams served churches across the country. He has served as Youth Pastor at Bethel A.M.E. Church of New Haven Connecticut, Executive Minister of First AME Church of Seattle Washington, Senior Pastor of St. Paul AME Church of Columbia Missouri, Senior Pastor of the Nottingham Myers United Methodist Church of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and Senior Pastor of New Hope Fellowship Cooperative Parish of Southern Prince George’s County, Maryland. While serving the Nottingham Myers congregation, Pastor Williams led the effort to complete the 30,000 square foot family life center on the Nottingham Myers campus. This facility was completed with a mix of public and private financing and provides a much needed recreational and educational space in the community that Nottingham Myers serves.

Beyond the local church, Dr. Williams has served as an investment banker with PaineWebber Inc., Senior Assistant to the Economic Development Administrator of the City of New Haven Connecticut, a corporate relations officer, for the University of Missouri, and Executive Director of the Baltimore Washington Conference United Methodist Foundation, the first African American to serve as Executive Director of a United Methodist Foundation. Dr. Williams now serves in various roles for the Baltimore Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church. He serves as Conference Statistician, Vice-Chair of the Council on Finance and Administration, and Chair of the Board of Investments. One of Dr. Williams’ greatest joys is his stewardship work with individuals and families. Dr. Williams created the  Williams Financial Boot Camp to help people get their financial house in order and on the way to sustained financial prosperity and financial freedom.

Dr. Williams is a graduate of Morehouse College, Yale Divinity School, and has an earned doctorate from the Wesley Theological Seminary of Washington DC. His finance and fundraising background has allowed Dr. Williams to be a blessing to the Church by working to tackle some of the most important and complex stewardship, fundraising, and financial issues faced today. Pastor Williams lives by these words found in the Gospel of Luke chapter 4, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

Rev. Williams is happily married to the former Erin N. McCoy, and they are the proud parents of one son, Ryan.
