Who’s The Boss

I love watching little kids play. They have such joy and fun that we often lose as we become adults. But just like adults, it is not always fun and games for little kids. I was watching my niece and some of her friends playing at a theme restaurant one day when a controversy broke out. It seems there was some debate about who should do what in the imaginary game. My niece had given an instruction, she’s quite the leader when one of her friends sharply objected. She looked her in the eyes and boldly stated, YOU ARE NOT THE BOSS OF ME. I fell out laughing.

This little girl had discovered very early in life one of the keys to successful living, nobody is the boss of you. Often, we are looking for others to do the things that we can only do for ourselves. Every decision we make in life, we made. We can blame others, but if we follow their advice, we did that. We can talk about how things are unfair, but we have the choice of how we interact and respond to the unfair things in life. In the end, we get to make a choice, and we get to live with the consequences.

Friends, you are the boss of you. You get to choose what you will and won’t do. You get to choose what you will and won’t accept. You get to choose what you react to, how you respond to it, and how long you carry it around with you. So today, I want you to know you have officially been promoted to the status of the boss. So now that you are the boss, it is up to you to lead you, discipline you, and be responsible for what you do. So now that you are the boss, what are you going to do?

Be Blessed,

Rev
