A Word every day to get you on your way!

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Proverbs 15:1
Just Be Nice
Every argument starts the same way. Someone says something, and the other person responds in a way that makes the first person angry. Then, the person who has been angered escalates by saying something that angers the other person even more. In response, that person ups the ante again, saying something that will ratchet up the anger and emotion until they are both yelling, the argument is full-blown, and feelings are hurt.
Friends, if you want to stop an argument before it starts, just be kind. It is challenging to argue with someone who is being nice to you. Sure there are people who can, but most people respond to gentle answers with gentle responses. When we make an effort not to go tit for tat with people, but instead meet anger with kindness, aggression with gentleness, and hate with love, it changes the trajectory of every interaction.
Every time we interact with someone, we have the chance to direct that encounter. We can direct that encounter towards hostility, or we can lead it towards peace. So make an effort to be nice, it really will save a lot of time and hassle in the long run.
