The Daily Dose with Dr. Daryl L. Williams

A Word every day to get you on your way!

Here is the Daily Dose for Monday, May 11, 2020.

This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Every Day

TGIF! We have all been there. We got to Friday, and we were thankful that the week was over. We were glad that we had survived the work week, and it was time to party. We were past Monday meetings, Tuesday turmoil, Wednesday worries, Thursday terrors and had arrived on Friday. No matter what came with Friday, we were thankful because no matter what Friday could throw at us, at least we were at the weekend. We had two days to make the get the most out of life, enjoy ourselves, and live our best lives. Only not really.

While we think that weekend will be awesome if we are honest, it really isn’t. Even if we have a great Saturday, we often have the Sunday dreads. The Sunday dreads start to creep in on Sunday evening when we start to think about Monday being right around the corner. We begin to get ourselves mentally prepared for the week ahead. We start thinking about what we will have to do, who we will have to deal with, and how we are going to make it to the next weekend. So in a week, we struggle through five days, to get to the weekend and then spend a third of the weekend worried about the other five days.

Friends, we can’t afford to only live for a day and a half of the weekend. There are 7 days in every week. There are 168 hours in every week. Each day and each hour are a time that we should be living our best lives. Every day we should be finding ways to live it up. We should be finding ways to have joy, happiness, pleasure, and fun. Every day can be like the weekend if you let it. We have to make a choice to see every day as a time of joy and celebration. To treat every day like a time of celebration. When we do that, we won’t have to thank God for Fridays, we can thank God for every day.

Be Blessed,

Rev
