Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will hold you up with my righteous hand. Isaiah 41:10
You’ve Got Help
When I travel I like to pack light. As a matter of fact, it was one of the things that my wife and I had in common that let me know that she was the one. Both of us have the firm belief that no matter where you are going or for how long you should never have to check a bag. Short trips, can all be done with a duffle bag and longer trips only require a carry-on approved rolling bag. That is why I am always fascinated when I see people with large heavy bags in airports. What I find most fascinating is when people are lugging bags that they clearly can’t lift themselves.
This was the case on a flight I was taking not long ago. There was a smaller lady that had parked in the same lot as I did. She had a bag that was almost twice her size. When the shuttle came she asked the driver to help her get it out of her car and into the shuttle. When we arrived at the terminal she asked the driver to help her get it off the shuttle. She then asked a gentleman to help her get her bag to the curbside check-in. At curbside, she asked someone else to get her bag onto the scale and the person working the counter put it on the belt. I was astounded. Not only could she probably not lift her bag, she never touched it. She was traveling on faith.
Friends, like the woman I watched in the airport we need to travel on faith. Too often we have burdens that are too much for us and we are afraid of what will happen with them. When we have burdens that are too great for us we should have no fear because God is with us. God promises us that he will strengthen us, he will help us, and he will hold us up with his righteous hand. So as you move through life, don’t be afraid that things are too big, or things are too heavy. We must move in faith knowing that our God will be there when we need him to hold us up and get us past every burden.
