The Daily Dose with Dr. Daryl L. Williams

A Word every day to get you on your way!

Here is the Daily Dose for Wednesday, November 27, 2019.

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:15

Everything For Him

What’s your inspiration? Everybody has one. Some people are inspired by proving people wrong. They want everyone who ever doubted them to see that they were wrong and that they made it. Other people are inspired by fear. They are afraid of failing or not living up to their potential and it drives them to work hard, push forward and keep going because they are afraid of failing. There are other people who are inspired by money, power, fame or any host of things, but everybody has something that is driving them.

What drives you matters. It matters because it will be the fuel that keeps you going when you don’t feel like keeping on. It will push you when you feel like giving up. That means what inspires you has to matter to you all the time. The problem with fear is that it can be overcome. The problem with proving people wrong is you eventually will then there is nothing to drive you. Fame, money, power, they are all fleeting leaving you with nothing to inspire you. That is why what inspires you has to be eternal.

Friends, if you are a disciple of Christ that is what should drive you. When we become disciples everything that we do is for him and represents him. Whatever you are doing in word or deed represents Jesus and should drive you to be the best at it and do it well. When you are living, acting and achieving in the name of the Lord, you never have to worry about it going away, or no longer motivating you. When HE is your motivation, you do the best you can as thanksgiving for all that he has done for you. So as you go through your day, remember all that you do is done in his name, so do your best, because when people see you, they see him.

Be Blessed,

Rev
