The Daily Dose with Dr. Daryl L. Williams

A Word every day to get you on your way!

Here is the Daily Dose for Monday, November 25, 2019.

And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Colossians 3:15

You’re Not Here For That

Every superhero has a nemesis. Batman has the Joker. Superman has Lex Luthor. Professor X has Magneto. Thor has Loki. Captain America has Red Skull. Every superhero has a supervillain that is his nemesis. That nemesis is the person who lives to defy, challenge and hate the superhero. The nemesis is the person who gets up in the morning plotting how to destroy mankind just so they can wind up in a fight with the superhero before the day is over. Day by day, the superhero and the nemesis work to makes each other’s lives miserable so they can keep doing battle with one another every day. It makes for great television and movies but it has to be exhausting.

Think about it, every day, 365 days a year, the hero and the nemesis are doing battle with each other. When they are not fighting with each other they are either recovering from the last battle or preparing for the next battle. No days off. No days to rest. No days on the beach. Just days of fighting, recovering or preparing to fight again. Nobody wants to live like that, yet many of us do. We are in constant battles and fights with people. We have created nemesis in our lives and people who we are at war with and it is keeping us from living in the peace of Christ. When we live in the peace of Christ and let it rule our hearts we come to a place where rivalries go away, nemesis no longer exists, but most importantly we get to live in peace and find rest for our souls.

Friends, you were not born to fight meaningless battles with people. You were born to live a life that fulfills a destiny, serves mankind and most importantly honors God. You were born to live in harmony with your brother and sister not wondering if they are plotting against you. So put down your swords and take off the battle gear, you are not here for that. You are here to live life and live it well and that’s something to be thankful for.

Be Blessed,

Rev
