The Daily Dose with Dr. Daryl L. Williams

A Word every day to get you on your way!

Here is the Daily Dose for Friday, August 23, 2019.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Isaiah 40:29

Still Going

All of us have seasons when we feel like we are running on empty. We have done all that we can. We have poured out all we have. We have pushed to our limits. Then something happens and we are asked to give even more. We know we have to do it. We know there is no way out of it. What we don’t know is how we are going to do it. How are we going to keep all the balls in the air? How are we going to keep taking care of everybody? How are we going to manage school, work, and have a personal life? In short, how do we keep going when we are running on empty?

What makes running on empty so difficult is that we feel like we are doing it all ourselves. We feel as if nobody is noticing, nobody cares, and certainly, nobody is stepping in to help out. The problem is we are typically wrong. What many of us don’t realize is by the time we notice we are running on empty, we have already been running on empty a long time. We have already been out of gas, barely holding on and pushing the limit. What we don’t notice is that what has kept us going is the Lord supplying strength and power when we are weak. It is the Lord, who has allowed us to get this far, and the Lord who will keep us going as more things demand our attention.

Friends, we all get overwhelmed from time to time. All of us run out of steam and just want the world to stop. Just know in those moments that God’s got you. In those moments, know that you are not in it alone, and someone does care. Know that in those moments your heavenly father is holding you up and giving you the strength that you need to get to the other side. There will be times in life when there is more on us than we can bear, but the good news is we are not carrying it alone. God is always supplying the strength we need when we get weak.

Be Blessed,

Rev
