The Daily Dose with Dr. Daryl L. Williams

A Word every day to get you on your way!

Here is the Daily Dose for Wednesday, August 21, 2019.

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

Hold On

What do you do when you are in trouble. If we are honest, many of us panic. We freak out and lose our minds trying to figure out how to settle the situation. The only problem is the more amped up we get the less likely we are to settle anything down. When we get amped up we can’t think straight, make bad decisions, and do things that are less than helpful. It is in these situations that we don’t need to think about what we need to do to get out of the problem. What we need to do is think back to what we did before the problem.

What makes someone a believer is what they claim to believe. For those of us who have professed faith in Christ, we have professed that we believe in a Christ that rose from the dead, a God that can handle everything, and a Holy Spirit that empowers us to face any problem. That is what we have to look back to when we face problems, circumstances, and issues that we can’t handle. We don’t need to look at what we did to get in this, or what we should do to get out of this, rather we should be looking back to remember what we believe and hang on to that while we are in this. While you are in the situation you have to hang on to who you said your god was before the situation came up.

Friends, we will all face challenges in life. We will face insurmountable odds, uncomfortable situations, and challenges that push us to our limits. When that happens remember God is faithful. He is not just faithful in good times, but he is also faithful when we are going through it. It is in those times that we have to be faithful to what we professed before. We have to be faithful to believe that God is good. We have to be faithful to know that God can work it out. We have to be faithful to hold onto our professed faith because we know that God is always faithful to us. So hold on, don’t give up, and know that no matter what, God is always faithful.

Be Blessed,

Rev
