The Daily Dose with Dr. Daryl L. Williams

A Word every day to get you on your way!

Here is the Daily Dose for Friday, August 9, 2019.

Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness, no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14

Just Try

People can be so annoying. They are irritating, messy, confrontational and sometimes downright evil. Yet there is no way that you can get away from them. In your house, people. On your way to work, people. Stuck in traffic, people. On your job, people. Go to a restaurant, there they are again, people. You can’t escape them, you can’t avoid them and you can’t move away from them. So what are you supposed to do with, people?

Interestingly, as much as you may be annoyed by people, you probably annoy people as well. Believe it or not, you are not everyone’s cup of tea, have bad habits, and are not always sunshine and roses to get along with. I know it is shocking, but yes, everything that people do to annoy you, you do and annoy somebody else. So since we are all stuck here together the questions aren’t only what do you do with people but also what should people do with you.

Friends, what we can really do is treat each other as friends. What we can do is look for the best in one another. We can cut each other some slack, give the benefit of the doubt, think before we act, and treat each other as we want to be treated. What we can do is make every effort to live in peace with one another. We can go the extra mile to avoid strife. We can look with a lense of love at each other as opposed to a lense of condemnation. It really is up to us how we treat each other. If we want to live in peace it is up to us to make every effort to make that peace a reality.

Be Blessed,
