The Daily Dose with Dr. Daryl L. Williams

A Word every day to get you on your way!

Here is the Daily Dose for Thursday, August 8, 2019.

Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.” Exodus 14:13-14

This Ends Here

When I was in the third grade I had a face-off with the school bully. I was not looking for a fight, I was just tired of being picked on. I was tired of wondering where he was and what he was going to do. I was tired of living day by day not sure of myself because of the threat that loomed from this bully standing around. Then one day when he approached me for our daily back and forth I’d had enough. When he started with his daily taunt, I punched him square in the gut. He doubled over and I walked away. We had quite the chat with our teacher that afternoon, but he also never bothered me again.

While I took down my bully, there are some bullies that you simply won’t be able to punch in the gut and walk away. There are some bullies that are so much bigger and stronger than you that you will need another course of action. In those cases, you have to know that all fights are not for you to fight. There are some fights that have to be handled by the Lord. There are some cases when you will need to stand still, trust him to step in, and know that it is handled.

Friends, you have nothing to be afraid of in this life. There will always be bullies, aggressors, and agitators, but you should not fear them. What you have to know is that God is ready to step in when you have a fight. God is ready to stand in the gap, fight the battles and hold off the enemies that you can’t fight. So sometimes, you have to hold back, stand still and just know that God will step in.

Be Blessed,
