The Daily Dose with Dr. Daryl L. Williams

A Word every day to get you on your way!

Here is the Daily Dose for Wednesday, July 10, 2019.

I am leaving you with a gift, peace of mind, and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. John 14:27

The Gift That Keeps on Giving.

We all want to be at our best, but it is very difficult when we are feeling troubled. When we are troubled, it seems like problems get bigger, solutions get more elusive, and peace becomes harder to find. When this happens, we tend to try to worry more, produce less, and if we are honest, we become significantly less fun to be around. When we are troubled, it feels like we are always behind the eight ball and that something worse is right around the corner, we just aren’t sure what it is. So we begin to get scared, make bad decisions, and sink into being a smaller version of ourselves just wanting the world to give us a break, but it seems the break is never coming.

Living a troubled life is not what God wants for you. God wants you to have the gift of peace of mind. When you have peace of mind, you can focus, find solutions, and be the best you possible. Peace of mind allows you to keep problems in perspective, have solutions for situations, and keep joy in your heart no matter what your circumstances are. When you can do that, the enemy can’t get you down because you know that every situation is temporary and that there will be better days after this.

Friends, a gift does you no good if you won’t accept it. God has sent you the gift of peace of mind, and it is yours for the taking. The peace that God sends is not tied up in circumstances or situations, but it transcends what you are going through to remind you that God is bigger than your issues. The peace of God allows you to remember that no matter what the world throws at you, God has a solution, a way out, a way around, or He will stay in it with you until you come out on the other side. When you know that God’s got you like that, you can truly rest, have peace, and be the best you because you have the gift of peace and that gift keeps on giving.

Be Blessed,

Rev
