Trouble Makers

“Some (people) aren’t looking for anything logical like money. They can’t be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some (people) just want to watch the world burn.”  These are the words Michael Caine as he played Alfred, the butler to Bruce Wayne in the 2008 movie The Dark Knight. Caine’s character was trying to explain that there are some people who are just different. Most people want peace, prosperity and can be reasoned with. There are other people who simply are not interested in the things like that there are some people who’s only motivation is chaos and destruction. These people in ancient days were called mockers.

You see the goal of the mocker is to defy sensibility and destroy order, just for the sake of doing so. The mocker wants simply to stir up trouble. The mocker goes from place to place and person to person string up trouble. The mocker laughs at peace and justice, spreading rumor and innuendo simply for the purpose of keeping strife and conflict going. The mockers true goal is to bring enough people into a frenzy to destroy the peace of a place and let anarchy reign. Simply to cause trouble and to watch the city burn.

The antidote to the mocker is the wise person. Wise people as opposed to spreading chaos spread reason. The goal of the wise person is to find the right, reasonable solution that leads to good for all. The wise person wants to put out fires, not start them. Bring peace to people, not cause chaos and dissension. The wise person works to bring peace and calm, so that righteousness may reign. When you see a mocker, walks away and be wise. Don’t engage. Don’t fight on their level. Take the time to be calm, cool and reasonable so that the fire goes out as opposed to watching it burn.

Be Blessed,

Rev
