A Proverb a day gets you on your way!

The prudent understand where they are going, but fools deceive themselves. Proverbs 14:8
I am not a big shopper. There is nothing that I find more excruciating than the prospect of penguin the day wandering around a mall shopping. Looking for stuff, going store to store, rack to rack, then doing it all over again, is a special kind of torture to me. That is why when I go to a mall, no matter what mall it is, I have a strategy. I immediately find the directory and then plot the most direct path to the store than I need to get to, and then the most direct path back to my car. This strategy allows me to have the maximum results with minimal wasted time and effort. In other words, I get in, get what I want, get out, and get gone.
The key to my mall strategy is what I like to call the path. You see the path is very simple, and only requires three-step process. The first thing the path requires is that you know where you are. That is why I start with the mall store directory. Every store directory has a layout of the mall and a little dot that says, “You are here.” Once you know where you are, the second step in the process is to know where you are going. So I find the store that I need on the map. The store may be near where I am, or it may be far away, but I need to know where I am and where the store I’m going to is, in relations to where I am. Finally, the last step of the process is plot the path. Once I know where I am, and where I am trying to get to, all I have to do is plot the most direct path from where I am to where I want to be.
In many ways, life is a lot like the mall. We have hope, we have dreams, we have things we want to accomplish, but we can get lost sometimes. We see all the things that are available, that are possible and lose sight of what we are there for. So we wander through life never making real progress and wonder why we aren’t where we want to be. The way to get to where you want to be in life, and to realize the potential that God has put in you, is to follow the path. You have to know where you are, where you want to be, and plot a route that gets you there. Once you do this, you will know what direction to take, what to say no to, what to pass on, how to get to where you want to be. So take some time today and plot a wise path from where you are to where you want to be.
